Environmental education and renewable energy are integrated into several materials in the science classroom (intracurricular). In grade 10, we develop a syllabus to integrate environment education in the science classroom. Here is the syllabus for environment education :
Climate Change and global warming, including pollution and waste recycling
Energy Forms and Conversion
Alternate Energy such as wind turbines and microhydro electricity
Solar Panel
Waste to Energy
Biofuel
Biotechnology
In the science classroom, the syllabus also integrated in some topics, for example in the topic of material measurements with scales. Students use the rules for measuring materials to make eco enzymes as an action for processing organic waste from fruits at school after learning the rules for measuring using scales.
In this lesson plan, students learn and explore energy form and conversion, the important of energy, some of alternate energy and how to develop the prototype
Using this worksheet, students learn and explore how the solar panel works and how to use it in electrical circuits
In this lesson, students learn the principal of measurements and explore how to use some apparatus such as vernier calliper and scale. Beside they learn how to use the apparatus, students use the tools to do processing waste canteen such as fruits and vegetable waste into bio energy and eco enzymes.
